Here’s a preview of The Tyneside Irish Cultural Society’s adult education classes starting week beginning September 18th

Classes for September 2017 We are expanding our Irish Language classes and Graham hopes to have four levels on offer in September including:-

Elementary Irish Language (1C) Monday 6.15-7.15 for those with some conversational Irish

Post Beginners Irish Language (1B) Wednesday  6.15-7.15 for those with some basic Irish who can read the sounds.

Irish for Beginners  (1A) Wednesday  7.30-8.30 for new starters

Intermediate Irish  (2B) for those with a working knowledge of Irish Grammar, who can form longer and more complex sentences. Monday 7.30-8.30

Art This year we have been running a drawing class which has proved a great success.  Danny will continue to run these sessions on Wednesday afternoons 1.30-3pm. New starters welcome.

Creative Writing has been our most recent adult education venture and Tracey has been running these workshops on Tuesday afternoons.  Please register your interest as soon as possible to give us time to book Tracey before her diary fills up and workshop dates will be confirmed in due course.

Irish Music Class Thursday evenings 6.30-7.30 is run by Tony who teaches the Irish Fiddle. We also have tutors who teach Bodhran and Whistle, depending on take up. New starters welcome.

Irish Book Club run by Carmel takes place once a month on Wednesday evenings. New starters welcome.

Antics our in-house drama group runs on Wednesday evenings 6.30 to 8.30 pm. We are looking for new members to join. The course will offer training and performance opportunities to new and experienced members.

Irish Ancestry We are hoping to run a series of one off lectures and are inviting people who have researched their Irish Ancestry and have a story to tell to please get in touch.

Irish Traditional Music and Dance is in the blood here in Clare, and passed down from one generation to the next. This family and their friends were quiet the attraction on O’Connell Street in Ennis last evening as even a few passers by were convinced to join in the craic agus ceoil. #fleadh2017
