Townsend Theatre Productions presents “Behold ye Ramblers” by Neil Gore. This fantastic play revolves around The Clarion newspaper and the organisations formed by its readership, namely in the form of rambling clubs. These Edwardian Pioneers promoted socialism and healthy outdoors pursuits by organising expeditions across open moors. Whilst campaigning for the right to roam, they were brought into conflict with landowners and gamekeepers who prioritised private property over the wellbeing of others in society.
