 Another with an aristocratic background, Frank Skeffington was not only a republican but also a pacifist, a feminist and a vegetarian! A poet and writer of the first biography of Michael Devilt (1908) he was murdered by crown forces. His widow, Hannah, continued campaigning until her death in 1946.
