Betty Sinclair (1910-1981)- Led by Tony Corcoran.
Despite her unflinching attachment to communism, Betty was much admired by many on both sides of the religious divide for her trade union work. She was leader of the city’s Trade Union Council from 1947-1975. She was an early supporter of Civil Rights but urged her friends in People’s Democracy not to march for fear of sectarian retaliation. They did not listen!
