Seán Lemass (1899-1971) – Talk led by Tony Corcoran. 

 Although only 71 when he died, Lemass was arguably the key figure in 20th century Irish Politics. Without him, De Valera would never have exercised his years of dominance which Lemass also helped bring to an end when he ushered in a period of modernisation signified by Ireland’s entry into the EU in 1973.
