St Patrick’s Day TIB Service

We will be marking St Patrick’s Day with a wreath laying ceremony at Eldon Square War Memorial to commemorate the Tyneside Irish Brigade. The service will begin at 13:00.

This event is a commemoration of the sacrifices made by the Tyneside Scottish and Tyneside Irish Brigade who both served in the British Army in World War I. After the First World War returning Tyneside Irish soldiers formed an association which held an Act of Remembrance on St Patrick’s Day every year. Since 2000, TICS has been proud to join in with this service. Members of both Brigades, as well as descendants of former members will also be in attendance.

Following the conclusion of the service, all are welcome to join us back at the Irish Centre.
