Welcome to current members and new members. The Tyneside Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann branch has establish itself with a higher profile and wider range of events and activities for members, new members and the wider community.
Guest musicians will be invited to play in the Gallowgate Lounge on the second Sunday of each month and will lead workshops/master classes followed by a concert.
The first of these events will be on 9th February 2014 and everyone is invited to participate.
On 20th February the Echoes of Erin Tour is at Tyneside Irish Centre. Junior members will be encouraged to go and will be given free tickets to attend. Full price tickets for adults are £8.
From 2014 members (especially juniors) will be encouraged to compete in the regional and national fleadhs. We look forward to having more delegates than previous years.
We will endeavour to keep members and the wider public updated with news and events through The Tyneside Irish Centre website, facebook and email list.
This weekend we will have the guest musicians Chris Meredith (fiddle) and Sam Partridge (Flute) leading sessions and workshops. There will be a session in the Central Bar in Gateshead (just at the end of the Tyne Bridge) on Saturday night (8th Feb.) It will start at 8.00 to allow some of the younger players to have a tune before 9.00.
