Doors open 7pm. Show begins 8pm.

Swarb! It Suits Him Well , is a touring tribute of minstrel friends that have come together to celebrate the great Dave Swarbrick and his music.

“Swarb” very sadly passed away in 2016. He left clear instructions that there was not to be a funeral. So …there wasn’t. However, before he died, he did talk about one last bash with all his friends making great music and having lots of fun. He may not have wanted a funeral but he didn’t say anything about a Wake!

So, they are giving him and his friends that party and everyone around the UK the chance to raise a glass in salute and share many very happy memories of the great man.

Jason Wilson Band

An award-winning Canadian musician of Scottish descent, leading his own band. He is well known for his own songs, which blend jazz, folk and reggae to great effect. In addition he has performed and recorded with many other acts including UB40, Alanis Morissette, Sly & Robbie, Ernest Ranglin, Pee Wee Ellis, Dave Swarbrick, Ron Sexsmith, The Mighty Sparrow, Percy Sledge, Brinsley Forde (Aswad), David Francey and many more.

Martin Carthy

Former member of Steeleye Span, The Albion Band and folk super group Band Of Hope, Martin Carthy was awarded the MBE in 1998 for services to folk music. Further credits include nurturing Bob Dylan and giving his arrangement of Scarborough Fair to Paul Simon. He’s a ballad singer, a ground-breaking acoustic and electric-guitarist and an authoritative interpreter of newly composed
material. Trailblazing musical partnerships with, amongst others, Dave Swarbrick and his award-winning wife Norma Waterson and daughter Eliza Carthy has resulted in more than 40 albums.

John Kirkpatrick

An outstanding folk singer/songwriter who has some magnificent songs to his name and who is also probably this country’s finest squeezebox player.
‘One of the finest squeezebox players in Christendom. An outstanding singer, a notable songwriter… He’s in a class of his own for the life he instils into whatever issues from his squeezeboxes’ (Folk Roots).
