Our next regular meeting would be on Maundy Thursday leading into Easter
weekend. We have decided to move it to following week – 7 pm on Thursday 4th
April at Tyneside Irish Centre.

We will be discussing Anne Enright’s “The Wren”.

“Nell – funny, brave and so much loved – is a young woman with adventure on her
mind. As she sets out into the world, she finds her family history hard to escape. For
her mother, Carmel, Nell’s leaving home opens a space in her heart, where the
turmoil of a lifetime begins to churn. And across the generations falls the long
shadow of Carmel’s famous father, an Irish poet of beautiful words and brutal
actions”.

Mike McCormack is scheduled to speak on 2nd May, about his latest novel “A
Plague of Souls”. We’re thinking of making a block booking – do let us know if you
would like to go. We can decide at our next meeting on 4th April.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy Easter to you all!
