From the team that gave us ‘The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists’ we give you Townsend Theatre’s Production of Yes! Yes! UCS!
It’s 1971 and Aggie McGraw, straight out of school , gets an office job at Govan shipyard a week before the government decide to kill it off. This is the story of the famous ‘work in’ when the people of Glasgow decided to show the government that there was a future for the City and her shipyards.
Townsend Theatre Productions give us the story of UCS with their usual blend of rock and folk inspired music, sound and visual effects.
Yes! Yes! UCS! is a” celebration of community solidarity, collective resistance and the vital support that made the work in such a success”. Support from people like John Lennon and Yoko Ono who sent a bunch of roses with the message “power to the people”
